Josh Medors Benefit Auction
Artist Josh Medors (Frank Frazetta’s Swamp Demon, 30 Days of Night) has been diagnosed with cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have health insurance.
To help defray the costs of his treatment, there will be a benefit auction at the Emerald City Comic Con the weekend of May 10-11. If you can’t attend EMCC but would still like to help, follow this link to Comic Book Resources for information on what else you can do.

One of the most difficult things about writing is having the courage to realize that something isn’t working and then changing it. Often this can mean tossing out pages of really good work, but the purpose of writing isn’t to string together a series of well-written sentences, it’s to tell a great story.
And that’s what I faced today.
In between my comic book work, I’ve been slowly working on a novel. I was up to around 75 pages, but when I re-read it today, I realized that the nagging little voice in my head that said it wasn’t buying what I was selling was right. The story didn’t want to go the way I’d been directing it. It wanted to go a different direction and it was time for me to listen.
And that’s how a 75 page manuscript gets cut down to 40 pages. But in the end, it’ll have been worth it.
